Crop Stress Index (CSI)
The CSI is a quantitative decision-support model developed to evaluate crop vulnerability across individual farms. Drawing upon variables including rainfall deviation, temperature variability, irrigation reliability, and crop sensitivity, the model generates a composite risk score that enables farms to be classified according to their level of climate risk.

Resource Optimisation Model
Building upon the Crop Stress Index, Farming Futures developed a resource optimisation model that prioritises agricultural interventions under limited funding conditions. By combining factors such as crop risk, farm characteristics, historical losses, and implementation costs, the framework identifies where financial resources and agricultural inputs are likely to generate the greatest impact.
