In collaboration with a local NGO, Farming Futures conducted a structured survey to collect farm-level data from smallholder farmers. The survey captured information relating to rainfall consistency, irrigation reliability, crop selection, historical yield challenges, and agricultural practices. These findings established the primary dataset underpinning the project's analytical models.
To strengthen the reliability of the dataset, Farming Futures partnered with WeatherSys Pvt Ltd to incorporate secondary weather information, including historical rainfall and temperature trends. Integrating field observations with climatic data enabled the project to better account for regional environmental variability and improve the accuracy of subsequent modelling.
Insights generated through the project's analytical framework were used to guide the allocation of agricultural resources to farmers identified as most vulnerable to crop stress. By prioritising interventions according to evidence rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, the project sought to maximise the impact of limited funding while improving climate resilience at the community level.
